The Mediation Process

In the mediation process, a neutral, third-party mediator sits down with both parties to identify areas of disagreement and fashion a mutually acceptable settlement that resolves these disputes. An attorney from Maples Lane, PLLC will be present at all times during this discussion to protect your rights and interests. Another attorney representing your spouse will also be present. Usually it is helpful for the process for both spouses to be present during the mediation sessions as well, but this is not always necessary. Please note that although it is helpful for both spouses to be present at the mediation, they will generally be seated in different rooms. The whole process generally takes 8-10 hours.

The goal is always to achieve a solution that is acceptable to both parties in a calm and reasoned manner.
